\"\"PUBLIC ART:\u00a0<\/strong> I \u00a0generally watch for \u201ccalls for artists\u201d, which is basically job listings from cities proposing an art project. Sometimes cities will contact me to either make sure I know about their call for artist, or they \u00a0know what they want and get bids from 2 or 3 artists for work to be done.\u00a0 \u00a0These types of calls may be for something commissioned and be very site specific, or they may be looking for something already created, that is on hand by the artist.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Cities sometimes finance these projects with a 1% for the arts program, or by applying for grants.\u00a0\u00a0 Sometimes smaller projects may come from their general fund. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I apply for these in two categories sculptural art, and functional art.\u00a0\u00a0 Functional art are things like trash cans, park benches, bus stops, shade structures, as well as sign bases, and kiosks.\u00a0 \u00a0Some cities have memorial bench programs, where a family will pay for a bench to be created, and the city takes possession of the bench upon completion, and installs it in a public area.\u00a0 \u00a0These custom artistic pieces are much more interesting than an off the shelf item.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

PRIVATE ART:\u00a0<\/strong> These days I am not going to art shows as much as I once was. \u00a0I am still doing commission work for private art lovers, as well as private subdivisions, and other developments. \u00a0I also have from time-to-time smaller pieces available, that will eventually end up in galleries.<\/span><\/p>\n

To start a project, just let me know what you have in mind, very generally, or very specific.\u00a0 From there we can bounce ideas and sketches, back and forth until we see a shared vision.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
