Tatanka…Thunder of the Plains.

Some great folks in Iowa contacted me about a commission for a life sized Bison from recycled steel.  Standing 9 feet tall at the shoulders, with tractor fenders making up the rear hips, and tractor snow chains making the  hairy hide of this massive sculpture, the details are spectacular.

This sculpture was fun for me.  The animals are muscular and impressive in their demeanor.  I was able to give those traits to the sculpture.  There is a lot of movement, and life in the metal behemoth with the placement of the feet and the position of the legs.

He now resides in Iowa, in a private collection and guards a home while standing in the front yard.
